Get Inspiration Looks from These K-Pop Idols

2021 has entered the second trimester, in Korea, there have been many K-Pop groups making comebacks with various concepts. K-Pop is known globally for its unique outfits, catchy choreography, and makeup trends. Besides giving us new songs, K-Pop groups also give us some makeup inspiration. When it’s come to K-Pop, make-up is as important as the music, because it conveys the concept of a group or the theme of the album. So, here are two idols who are making comeback recently with ear catchy songs and of course unique make-up that you can recreate these idol’s looks.

The first idol group is from JYP’s super rookie group ITZY that made a comeback in April 30 with their album Guess Who. They give fierce and charisma in their latest single, “Mafia in The Morning.” Inspired by the popular game ‘Mafia,’ the record sees the group experiment with darker themes as they sing about secretly stealing someone’s heart. Their concept was introduced with two sets of photos: “Day” and “Night”. On the set “Day”, one of the members, Shin Ryujin, wears soft-tone pink eyeshadow, straight and thick eyebrow, and burgundy lip matte. The point of the makeup is also the brown contacts. In this set photo concept, she looks flawless and dreamy. It’s a casual yet sophisticated look that’s great for everyday wear. Meanwhile, the “Night” concept is bolder in eye make-up. The focal points “Night” set are warm-tone peach eyeshadow and full wing-eyeliner, and matte lips in deep coral. The concept creates a badass effect but still pretty.

The second idol group is from SM Entertainment, NCT Dream. The NCT unit consisting of Mark, Renjun, Jeno, Haechan, Jaemin, Chenle, Jisung made a comeback on May 10 with their first album 맛 (Hot Sauce) since their debut in 2016. Their concept in this comeback revealed the members’ strong characters and charms just like ‘Hot Sauce’. NCT Dream unveiled three sets of concept photos for their upcoming first full album, they are Crazy Jalapeño, Boring Jalapeño, Chilling Jalapeño. One of the members, Lee Haechan gave strong charisma in the three sets. Actually, the make-up is similar for each set. The makeup artist made the smokey eye on his eyes. His heart-shaped lips were on the pink side, which is a perfect match for the darker shades on his eyes, making his makeup just as multifaceted as he is.  He rocks from pale to cherry lips and from smokey brown eyes to soft pink and intense gold. These looks can be recreated in your daily life.
